Best way to join two timber rafters at the apex?
I'm adding a roof to a derelict (but strong) old shed.
The image below shows the simple plan. 152x38mm rafters, upon which there will be 76x50mm purlins at 1,000mm spacing. IBR roof sheets will be fixed to the purlins.

How to find rafter tails when covered by soffit?
I'd like to repair some hanging gutters by drilling some new gutter hangers into rafter tails, but it's already fully assembled with fascia trim and soffit covering the outside, how do I locate the "hidden" rafter tails precisely to drill into them?
