Clothes drier; is it better to re-wire from NEMA 14-30 back to 10-30, or to update a 10-30 outlet by running a new ground and converting it to 14-30?
We moved into a new house that only has an old NEMA 10-30 outlet for the clothes drier. I'm tempted to update it to a 14-30 by running a new ground from the subpanel.
We bought a drier and it came wired for 14-30. Conversely, I could just rewire…
